LUCARTOLA, the artistic persona of Luca Villari, was born in Rome 24 years ago. He has always found solace in his music, a sanctuary he has progressively shared with his audience over the years. His compositions explore the depths of emotion, transcendence, psychology, joy, and even trauma. An eclectic listener, he draws inspiration from a diverse array of artists such as Jeff Buckley, Tamino, Aurora, Wolf Alice, and Slowdive. With his unique songwriting talent and smooth, pristine vocals, LUCARTOLA aims to resonate deeply with his listeners, capturing the most authentic vibrations.

Lucartola returns with Shudder, an ode to the body of a loved one as if it were still a whole. As the piece progresses, an atmosphere of obsession and anguish becomes increasingly evident. Shudder mixes alternative pop with soft rock sonorities, and unravels gently across strums and strings. Going from a sense of emptiness at the beginning, we feel coming in as protagonists bass and keys, bring out the bittersweet of the whole filling up the space. Calling it a response of sorts of Tamino – Indigo Night “mono arabic fairytale”.
